our community guidelines
-
Respectful and Inclusive Language
We firmly believe that language shapes our reality. We commit to using language that is respectful, accessible, and inclusive at all times.
-
commitment to growth and learning
We acknowledge that our community is not perfect and that mistakes will happen. We pledge to foster a culture of learning and growth by addressing mistakes constructively and without shame. We prioritize building trust in all our interactions.
-
curiosity and respect
We approach every interaction with curiosity and respect. We are mindful of how our words and actions impact others, prioritizing impact over intent.
-
Self Care
We prioritize self-care. We encourage members to eat, drink, stretch, and take care of their personal needs as necessary.
-
confidentiality
We honor and respect the privacy and confidentiality of our community. What is shared in our space stays in our space.
-
Equitable participation
We balance our participation to ensure everyone’s voice is heard. We encourage quieter members to step forward and share, and we ask more vocal members to make room for others.
-
personal accountability
We speak from our own experiences, using “I” statements, and we avoid making generalizations about others.
-
commitment to anti-racism
We are dedicated to dismantling racism in all its forms. Regardless of our racial or ethnic backgrounds, we commit to actively opposing anti-Black, anti-Asian, anti-Latinx, anti-Indigenous, anti-Semitic, and anti-MENA racism.
-
Promotion and solicitation
July Society encourages members to self-promote and do business with one another, and we provide avenues to showcase our work; therefore, we believe that direct solicitation between members is not necessary. We ask that members of the July Society refrain from direct solicitation to other members. Please note that Multi-level Marketing companies are not considered a legitimate business in the July Society space, and any attempts to recruit will lead to removal.
By adhering to these guidelines, we create a community that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to growth for all members.
