Focus Sessions are July Society Community Manager-hosted, co-working sessions—often referred to as work sprints—meant to provide guided support for members during their day, whether it’s while they complete work tasks, chip away on to-do lists, or accomplish other productivity goals. Focus sessions have unlimited capacity to members and a guaranteed schedule each week, ensuring there is always a space for members and a consistent, established agenda every week.
There are two Focus Sessions scheduled each day, Monday through Thursday, which follow the Pomodoro Technique—a time management method that involves working in 25-minute intervals, followed by short breaks. Held over Zoom, these focus sessions include a Welcome Check-In, four work sprints, four breaks, and a period of decompression led by July Society Community Managers.
Focus Sessions offer support and structure in a casual, come-as-you-are, digital setting.

Community is a central aspect of July Society, and the organization offers a thriving Members-Only Slack Community where participants can chat each day, ask questions, offer solutions, and share about their lives. From productivity solutions to forums to unpack your favorite reality TV show; from book recommendations to a channel dedicated to sharing successes, the Slack community is a 24/7 space for July Society members to connect.
In addition to offering sessions dedicated to focused, guided productivity, July Society offers a 24/7 Peer Sprint Lounge for members to work and body double outside of the scheduled, guided focus sessions each week. This unique offering allows members—no matter what their time zone might be—a space to be productive with the support of other members of the July Society.
In the peer sprint lounge, you’ll find community members accomplishing work tasks; writing and creating art; completing household chores; cooking and baking; and more. In the July Society Members-Only Slack, you’ll see frequent calls in the peer-sprint channel for other members to join an impromptu productivity session.
The peer sprint lounge was created not only to offer members additional support in their week outside of facilitated sessions, but to also provide a welcoming space for members whose schedules may not always be able to attend guided focus sessions.

It’s not just about co-working.
July Society offers online community events that facilitate activism, celebrate creativity, and cultivate connection and belonging. Unique online programming includes:
Society Spotlights allow members to present to the community about different topics (What was the Paris Olympic Games like? A Deep Dive on Bats! An Introduction to Art Conservation. What are the style trends for the upcoming season?)
Society Book Club is a twice monthly meet-up where members gather to read together. What makes it different than a traditional book club? Members read whatever book they want!
Creative Flow is offered twice a month and gives members an opportunity to flex their creative muscles, whether it’s writing, creating art, working on crafts, or anything else members want to work on alongside community members.
With individuals located throughout North America and abroad, July Society community members have made opportunities for meet-ups and in-person community gatherings throughout the year, including past gatherings in Savannah, Georgia, Denver, Colorado, New York, New York, Los Angeles, California, and more. Our focus on community - first online, blossoming to in-person - is one way that July Society sets itself apart from other digital co-working spaces.
the July society story
The July Society was born of The Jane Club, which had to shutter its digital doors on July 30, 2024. When the members were handed the reins to rebuild the community, a leadership team formed, hiring two community managers, grabbing a domain name and establishing a 501(c)(3). It could not exist without the focus, productivity and community upon which the previous Club was built.
July Society is a co-working space for people who work from home, work from an office, work mornings, work nights, work weekdays, work weekends, work in the U.S. and Canada or work in literally any other location that has access to the internet.
We welcome everyone, no matter their age, gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, education, religion, disability, sexual orientation, sexual identity, or any other distinguishing characteristic or trait.
